FERMA performed the demolition of a two-story, 360,000-square-foot reinforced concrete parking garage at one of the busiest shopping malls in the world.
An emergency egress path was maintained throughout demolition, allowing the mall to remain fully operational without disrupting adjacent Bank of America and Chase Bank facilities.
The parking garage demolition was completed two weeks ahead of schedule while maintaining continuous public access and safety controls.
Following demolition, FERMA executed mass excavation of approximately 240,000 cubic yards of soil while the mall remained open during construction.
To maintain schedule, FERMA averaged approximately 60 double-bottom trucks moving 280 loads daily through an active commercial environment.
Excavation and hauling operations were optimized using a custom-built excavator equipped with a specialized bucket, enabling efficient loading and reduced congestion throughout the site.
