Scope
- In March 2025, FERMA Corporation began demolition activities at the 339-acre Phillips 66 Carbon Plant in Rodeo, CA, following the site’s closure in 2023 and 2024.
- FERMA’s scope included obtaining all necessary permits, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and managing environmental decommissioning work across the facility.
- Hazardous materials handled during the project included paints, oils, PCBs, and other regulated wastes, with full asbestos abatement performed as part of the demolition process.
- Demolition activities encompassed removal of all above-grade structures down to slab level, with materials processed for recycling wherever possible.
- Site restoration was completed to ensure safe and compliant conditions following project completion.
