- Contracted to demolish the former NASA Hangar 3 at Moffett Airfield, which contained asbestos
- Obtained an open-air variance from BAAQMD to mechanically demolish the structure, as conventional abatement posed a risk of collapse
- Demolition was performed one 20’ truss bay at a time on a strict four-day-per-bay schedule, utilizing three custom-built ultra high reach machines
- Five electric, remotely controlled water misting machines were elevated up to 140’ using rotating forklifts and hoists to provide dust suppression
- Demolition required using steel plates for floor protection, water containment berms, wood salvaging, and water collection and treatment
- Cleanup and decontamination were completed after each truss was demolished, allowing other trades access within an 8-hour shift
- 180,000 feet of non-structural wood was bundled, planed using custom-built operations, inventoried, palletized, and stored for client reuse
- Demolition was completed ahead of schedule and without injury
