FERMA Corporation completed the asbestos abatement and structural demolition of the 7-story main hospital building, Behavioral Health Building, Old Main Tower, and Laundry Building
After abatement was completed, skidsteers performed soft demolition two floors at a time. Once the soft demolition was completed, a high-reach excavator was used to perform structural demolition one floor at a time
This work was performed while the hospital was active and operational. Special attention was given to monitor proper vibration controls. Hand demolition was required in sensitive areas to eliminate vibration and noise concerns
Housekeeping was crucial to keep public streets, ramps, and loading docks clean from any debris. FERMA Corporation coordinated street sweeping and traffic control during all activities
