Scope
- FERMA completed asbestos abatement activities on Boiler 3, including insulation, gaskets, and other regulated materials, in compliance with EPA and TDSHS requirements
- The scope included the structural demolition of Boiler 3, encompassing the turbine generator unit, exhaust stacks, superstructure steel, and associated ancillary buildings
- Mechanical systems such as boiler components, pressure vessels, and piping, as well as electrical systems including switchgear, cabling, conduits, and MCCs, have been removed and disposed of in accordance with regulatory standards
- Demolition also included reinforced concrete foundations and subsurface structures, followed by backfilling and compaction to meet engineered grade specifications
- Site restoration activities involved final grading to establish stable, safe, and environmentally compliant conditions
- The project has been delivered on schedule, within budget, and without recordable safety incidents
- Slurry fill & asphalting of designated areas
- FERMA managed, contained and disposed of all residual fuels, oils & liquids.
