Scope

  • FERMA performed complete interior, structural, and asbestos abatement demolition of a six-level post-tension concrete parking garage (Building B185) and an adjacent three-story steel structure (Building B177).

  • Initial work on the parking garage included a full interior gut-out using skid steers and mini excavators to remove debris and prevent commingling of materials prior to structural demolition.

  • Structural demolition of the post-tension parking garage was executed in accordance with a stamped engineered demolition plan, utilizing a conventional top-down, bay-by-bay sequence with excavators and hydraulic hammers.

  • Demolition of the three-story steel structure began with interior office debris removal to prepare the building for structural demolition activities.
  • The steel structure was demolished using a top-down, bay-by-bay approach from the roof to the first-floor slab, with concrete separated from structural steel members during processing.
  • Following completion of demolition and abatement activities, FERMA performed site berm construction and final grading in accordance with the approved grading plan to achieve specified finish elevations.
